Google APPS for Education is a Google-powered space provided for K-12 schools. What this means is that South Whidbey School District has its own space or Domain which has been set aside by Google for our use.
Our Google siteis a controlled environment for students, allowing documents, calendar, sites and chat features only within the school district site. For students, these features will not be open to the outside/internet. These collaboration and communication tools will help our students develop 21st Century Skills. Email will also be available, but limited for students. K-5 students will not have internet email. Students in grades 6-12 will have email, but only within the school site. Internet email will require parent/guardian permission. At all grade levels, students receive training in internet safety.
