Student Learning Goals

  • South Whidbey School District Student Learning Goals

     

    GOAL 1:           By 2020 100% of our graduates will leave the district Career and College ready.

     

    Progress toward this goal is measured by the following benchmarks:

    1. 85% or more of our graduates will successfully complete algebra II
      • Students not meeting annual performance expectations will receive remediation

     

    1. 100% of grade 8 students will achieve a 3.2 or higher on the district writing assessment
      • Students not meeting annual performance expectations will receive remediation

     

    1. 100% students will leave grade three reading at or above grade level
      • Students not meeting annual performance expectations will receive remediation

     

     

    GOAL 2:           By 2014 complete implementation of a uniform evaluation system for ALL staff. All employee efforts should be focused upon demonstrating and promoting student outcomes directly related to Career and College readiness, as demonstrated by the use of 21st Century Skills.

     

    Progress toward this goal is measured by the following benchmarks:

    1. Administrative staff will be uniformly trained in the use of one of the evaluation tools suggested by OSPI.
      1. Student engagement will be observable in each classroom
      2. Teachers will include project-based learning expectation in their classrooms, which include collaboration, communication, cooperation, critical thinking, cross cultural relationships.

     

    1. All staff will exhibit behavior and work ethic consistent with 21st Skills (i.e. collaboration, communication, cooperation, critical thinking, cross cultural relationships).

     

    1. District administration and SWEA will engage in a collaborative conversation to implement an evaluation system in compliance with State law.

     

    1. District administration will engage PSE and SEIU in collaborative conversations to examine and adopt a revised evaluation system.
