South Whidbey Elementary is very proud to be a "Leader in Me" school, based on Steven Covey's "7 Habits of Highly Effective People."  The following is a quote from "The Leader in Me" website, "The Leader in Me is an innovative, schoolwide model that emphasizes a culture of student empowerment and helps unleash each child’s full potential. Applying The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People®, teachers and students internalize timeless leadership principles that nurture the skills students need for success in the 21st century."

We have a supportive and involved community.  We encourage volunteer participation and want to have our families in our schools sharing the joys of learning and the spectacular activities that happen all day long.  Our staff are a devoted and committed group of individuals that come to school each day to provide the very best education for every child.
