School board members/directors are elected from one of five director districts in our school community and serve four year terms. Board members are “governors” of our district and they work with the district’s administrative staff and the community to provide leadership and direction for the district as a whole.
With input from the community and staff, the school board makes decisions on a variety of matters including bond and levy elections, board policy, budget adoption, facilities, curriculum, transportation and employment and employee relations. In addition to regular meetings, board members also visit schools, other district facilities and attend many school activities.
Public participation is an integral part of successful schools. Meeting agendas are prepared by the board president and superintendent and are available on our web site prior to meetings. The community is encouraged to attend.
