2016-2017 - School Board Calendar
The South Whidbey School District Board usually meets twice monthly unless otherwise stated. The monthly Board Workshop is held on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the South Whidbey Elementary School Campus, if needed. The Board Business Meeting is generally used for more detailed discussion of issues, board business, building reports, staff presentations, etc. requiring more time than would be possible at the regular business meeting. Action may be taken at the Board Business Meeting. The Regular Board Meeting is held on the fourth Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of the South Whidbey Elementary School Campus. These meetings are used for board communications, business, and administration.
Public participation is an integral part of successful schools. Meeting agendas are prepared by the board chair and superintendent and are available on our web site prior to meetings. The community is encouraged to attend.
The School Board is continuously educating and self-evaluating themselves to be the best for the South Whidbey School District. See the most recent WSSDA Board Self Evaluation here.
In the November 6, 2007 General Election, the voters of South Whidbey School District #206 approved the redistricting of board director districts into three geographical and two at-large positions. The 2010 Census changed the boundaries slightly. The director districts are outlined below.
