Policies

  • The South Whidbey School District Board of Directors sets policy for the district. Policies are periodically reviewed and updated as needed and new policies are developed as needs arise. These policies are grouped as follows:

    Policy Series Title Description
    1000 Series Board of Directors Policies related to the school board, such as meetings, member districts, committees, officers, by-laws, code of ethics, etc.
    2000 Series Instruction Policies related to curriculum and instruction.
    3000 Series Students Policies pertaining specifically to students and student activities.
    4000 Series Community Relations This section covers policies such as advertising and promotion, complaints,use of school facilities, public records and working with outside agencies.
    5000 Series Personnel These policies pertain to school district staff and address issues such as affirmative action, recruitment, contracts, termination, leave, staff development and substitutes.
    6000 Series Management Support The 6000 series covers district administration, including the superintendent, principals, evaluations and district administrative organization.
