Promise Made, Promises Kept

Thank you to our community for your continued support of facilities improvements.  We hold fast in our commitment to improving our facilities for our students, staff and community partners. Powerful learning can only be possible when our facilities continue to be safe and comfortable.  This year our maintenance team and contractor partners worked tirelessly to address ongoing needs and to modernize our system at the same time.  What follows is a comprehensive list of the projects we undertook. Our plan over the next six years is to continue to build on this foundation at a similar pace.

Completed Levy Projects 2024-2025

Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Improvements

• Rehabilitation of inoperable HVAC units at SWMS/HS Office complex
• Rehabilitation of inoperable HVAC unit in Auditorium
• Rehabilitation of inoperable HVAC unit in main gymnasium
• Complete diagnostic review and repair of air handlers, heat pumps and unit ventilators districtwide
• Dehumidifier installation to prevent mold in in PE storage and SWMS/HS kitchen dry storage
• Upgrade of HVAC digital controls districtwide

Remodeling Projects

• Remodel of main gymnasium at SWMS/HS from water damage (partially funded by levy)
• Mitigation and reconstruction from water damage in South Campus gymnasium restrooms and PE office
• Mitigation and reconstruction from water damage in SWMS/HS kitchen dry storage
• Mitigation and reconstruction from water damage in the South Hall of the Community Center (Building A)
• Drainage improvement in SWHS/MS kitchen

Fire System Upgrades

• Replacement of all monitoring devices and horn strobes at SWES
• Replacement of annunciator and control panels at SWES
• Replacement of monitoring device at SWMS/HS
• Consolidation of monitoring systems under one provider (UltraTech)
• Modernization and replacement of sprinkler sprinkler systems districtwide

Water system improvements

• Addition of Sentinel Pro Cloud-based monitoring system (to alert water management of issues with treatment)
• Addition of Rosemount Chlorine analyzer for bacteriological purification of water system
• Replacement of water heaters, aquastat, recirc pumps and associated plumbing serving serving South Campus gymnasium and main office
• Replacement of water heaters, aquastat, recirc pumps, mixing valve and associated plumbing serving SWMS/HS locker rooms
• Replacement of water heaters, aquastat, recirc pump and associated plumbing serving Transportation and Maintenance building
• Replacement of water heaters, aquastat, recirc pump and associated plumbing serving SWCC Building A
• Repairs and improvements to pumps and piping at Maxwelton pump house

Grounds Improvements

• Replaced old sodium lighting at stadium with brighter LED light systems
• New roofs on softball and baseball dugouts
• Infield resurfacing of softball and baseball infields (with Diamond Dust)
• Wifi added to softball field
• Fencing repairs and improvement at SWMS/HS
• New fencing and gates at water plant reservoirs to ensure secure access
• Upgraded to competition rated long-jump pit sand at the stadium
• Scheduled:  Tennis court resurfacing at SWMS/HS in July
• Repair of storm drain in the bus parking lot

Roofing systems

• Replacement of roofs on the Community Center multi-purpose room
• Gutter addition and repair at the Transportation and Maintenance building
• Ongoing repairs to SWMS/HS roofs
• Installation of new scuppers (roof drains) over the South Hall of the Community Center

Equipment improvements and modernization

• New dishwasher at SWHS/MS kitchen, including electrical, ventilation and plumbing improvements
• New dishwasher at South Campus kitchen
• Conversion to cordless vacuums districtwide to improve efficiency (by 30-40 percent)
• Replacement and standardization of water/carpet extraction equipment districtwide
• Training and addition of high-vacuuming equipment 
• Upgrade to more efficient and improved large mower
