South Whidbey Student Representative to the School Board

Position Announcement
Student representative will:
- Follow guidelines for submitting application to school board
- Serve during Junior or Senior year of high school
- Serve from September to June, but welcome at all meetings
- Attend two official meetings per month (workshop/board)
- Function as liaison between all schools and board
- Provide own transportation to/from meetings
- Have opportunity to chair one board meeting during tenure
- Receive an honors designation on transcript for U.S. History
- Assist board members at high school graduation (Junior rep)

Timeline:
- Beginning of April- information goes out to all sophomores/juniors
- Application packet available at the SWHS office
- End of April - Student information “packet” due to Mr. Patton
- May Workshop - interviews with school board (May – Pre - Workshop meeting)
- May - Finalist announced
- September Regular Meeting- Student representative seated
- May - final required board meeting (7th meeting)
- June - Member assists board in presenting diplomas at graduation

- Copy of H.S. Transcript (signed by school official)
- 2 reference letters
- Transportation requirement
- Job requirements
